After our few hot days in Luxembourg during our European Bagel, we drove to Paris to stay for the last weekend in June. Thankfully the weather was reasonable, as were the number of tourists, surprisingly. We stayed in a neighborhood between the Parc de Belleville and the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont and, other than going into the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, mostly avoided being in any crowds.
Although we had a short stay, arriving on a Friday afternoon and leaving early Monday morning, I, of course, ended up taking a zillion photos of our time in Paris. After spending our first night at the Louvre, we spent the next two days walking close to 40,000 steps on self-guided tours I had brewed up before we left. I have finally whittled my zillions down to a more managable few sets of images I will post in the next weeks.
The first images from Paris, presented here, are some of those "typical" places one might put on one's itinerary while visiting the City of Love. Because the city was gearing up for the Summer Olympic Games, some areas I wanted to shoot were surrounded by the construction of grandstands or fencing and those shots did not materialise as I had hoped. Other areas were still accessible and presented below are fairly standard shots (more creative looks at Paris to come!) of some of the iconic Parisian landmarks we had the fortune to swing by during our visit.
Thanks for visiting and scrolling through this post highlighting some Parisian icons. Hope to see you back next time!
Love the blue!!
The blue in the first few days images is so striking! Love it!
