These photos are FANTASTIC!! We had Malmö on our itinerary in '22 and had to drop it. I was sad. My niece, who moved to Germany about 6 years ago says this is her favorite place and she wants to retire there. I can't wait to see it. For now, your stunning compositions on this one will let me live vicariously!

Thanks so much for your words!

I’m sorry to hear you missed out on Malmö. It’s a small city but it has lots of pockets of interest.

We didn’t even explore the area we stayed in on this past trip until maybe our third visit. Malmö has mostly been a “stop for an overnight” town for us. But, having a dog, we always go for extended walks to explore, even for just an evening, and we found lots to see on those brief stops.

A couple of day trips there when staying nearby led us to explore further and we finally decided to stay there for the week of our spring break this time.

I hope your niece gets her wish to live there one day — the perfect excuse for you to get it back on your itinerary. 😃

Super photos, I just passed through there last week from Copenhagen up to Stockholm. But next I'll make an effort to explore.

Thank you!!!

I actually just read your post and commented there. 😇

As far as Mslmö goes, we’ve been a few times now, always exploring more of the city. It has a lot of different pockets of interest and we’ve enjoyed it. It ended up having more to offer than we would have thought. Just like any city, I guess, if you explore enough of it. 😃

Really loved then BnW work. Especially the skate park looked a desert landscape to me at the first glance 😍

Everything about your work has been said. I went to Malmö last month and recognize many of the spots. So I have an idea how hard it is to take pictures of this quality.

Many thanks and very much appreciated!

Great, great photos. I was amazed at your black and white work - and then I saw your color work! It's all great.

You have some truly amazing work here!

That waterlogged skatepark (I assumed that's what it was) is extremely cool!

Thank you for sharing this!

Many thanks!! So happy to hear you liked that skatepark shot in particular! 😃

Such a great set of images, especially those black and white ones. The third image in particular keeps drawing me back to it with it's sense of solitude. Lovely work!

Thank you so much!!

(That evening was so rainy, dark and grey it really was quite a lonely waterfront…)

Nice contrasts in the black and white. I love the modern architecture ones. I have been there. Brings back memories!

I've never paid much attention to water towers, but perhaps I should... they seem to exist as massive signposts in the American Midwest, giving you a sense of place.

KewtieBird’s Photo Journey's avatar

I just yesterday (?) read a post that had a snazzy image of a typical bulbous American water tower included and the author mused about doing a series. I commented that they should absolutely do it!

Those water towers from my homeland are so different from those I’ve noticed in Northern Europe but I dig them all, I’m finding.

Please let me know in future if you’ve come across any where you are or are going. I’m interested!

Great series of photos, KewtieBird. I especially liked the moodiness (Scandinavian noir?) of the black and white ones.

Many thanks!!

That trip def required lots of BnW editing, for sure. 😉
