Wonderful series of photos, KewtieBird. I too am a lover of animals and have had a variety of pets over the years. Aside from the normal dogs, cats, mice, hamsters, rats and fish etc. I also had stick insects and racing pigeons.
I wouldn’t really call stick insects fun as they don’t do too much except hang around on small branches and chew on leaves. They are interesting to watch for a little while but that’s about it. As for the pigeons, I was in my mid-teens at the time. I didn’t actually get around to racing them but we often took them several miles from home and let them go to see how long it would take to come back. Unfortunately, a fox broke into the loft one night and killed most of them. The remaining few were eventually given away. Also, I didn’t give them names. I just knew them by their colourings and markings.
Ahhh, I get your point about the stick bugs. I guess the fun was mine in imagining them. 😉
So sorry about your pigeons. We keep a couple of Muscovy ducks and used to have two chickens as well but one was taken by a fox (who have become much more common in the suburbs of Oslo).
The carwash picture is fantastic! I've had a number of unusual pets: a crayfish that molted a number of times as it grew, and some caterpillars all the way through till they became butterflies
Thank you! Oooo, so neat that you had a crayfish! That’s a unique critter to look after!! And very cool that you were able to see the lifecycle of caterpillars. So fun. Thanks so much for sharing!
Yes! I love all animals, and like you, I have tons of allergies. I currently have a Bernedoodle that’s more of a stuffed teddy bear than an actual dog. - When I was 16, I had a small salt water fish tank with seahorses in it. Those were definitely my strangest pets. Then again, I also had a cat who was pretty strange 🤣
So many good ones! The dog in the car wash, though! I don‘t think Ben would ever want to drive in the car if I would let him in the car during the car wash.
Ha!! Yeah, I can imagine one of those car washes would be a strange and perhaps unnerving experience for some furry friends. Thanks so much for your comment!
These are fantastic, KewtieBird! Looking at them put a smile on my face, and I especially loved the image of the dog going through the car wash—wonderful!
Of your photos - a goat, and a bnw cat, couple of pics below. Otherwise, a turtle☺️
Awww, sweet! And turtles are great.
Great Photos!
Thank you !

Thanks!!! Oooo, stick insects sound fun. What do they eat?!? And did you race your pigeons? What’s the coolest name one of your birds had?

Beautiful series of images! My standout favourites are:
the dog in the car in the carwash
the dog emerging from the cave
the dog in front of the Apen Cafe
the car sitting on the angled roof
The Apen Cafe photo appears like the dog is looking back asking: "Are you coming in for a coffee?" Haha.

Wow, sea horses!! That sounds so exotic. Very cool. A big hug to your bernedoodle. Thanks for commenting!! 😃

Aw, thanks so much! (And I admit, that carwash one is a fav — I saw that dog and had to run over and get a shot.)
Lovely! Our furry friends are everywhere, and we are better for it. Lovely images, I particularly like the light in the last one. Really works!
Thanks!! Yeah, that’s fall in Borgund, Norway. A very Nordic scene, really … 😃
