The year before last, my work friend asked me to join our company's contingent at Milwaukee's Pride parade. We were handing out treats, so while it was kinda fun, I didn't really have a chance to absorb and enjoy things. This year, my friend didn't feel comfortable going, due to the current climate and I don't think the company even sent a group.
The colors on your photos are amazing! What a treat to be able to attend and I think what was most impactful was what you wrote at the end. I can only imagine what it’s like being overseas and hearing all the crap that’s happening here. I can imagine then seeing the polar opposite right in your face with all its acceptance and beauty. You’re in a good place… Keep making the most of it!
(And believe me, after all the US political news I injest most days ever since someone won a place at the top almost 10 years ago, I really do cherish where I happen to be living while, at the same time, doing what I can from afar — including grinning widely as I voted for Mamdani.)
Many thanks for taking the time to visit and for your comment! 🙏😊
I am originally from Phoenix, then went to UofA in Tucson before I started the big eastward migration: grad school in Houston, post-doc in NYC and finally, now, many years in Oslo. 😃
It certainly looks like it was a vibrant, colourful celebration of inclusivity. It looks like there were numerous moments, messages that gave pause for thought. Seeing your fellow country men and women from the military participating, supporting all their common humanity, it doesn't surprise me that it stirred up emotional overwhelm🏳️🌈. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing Pride in another city (I love Stockholm)!
I appreciate your visit and comment!! Yeah, don’t tell Oslo but I’ve always liked Stockholm best of the Scandinavian cities… Thanks!!!

Awwww, that’s such a bummer. 🥺
It certainly looks like more fun than that hokey “parade I photographed last week 😁
😆😆 That may very well be true. Thanks for visiting!! 😃

I so agree with your sentiments at the end. And I didn't realize you were an American expat! I thought you were Norwegian. Where are you from?
Glad to hear the sentiments resonated.
