Photo #8, The Stomatol Sign is Sweden's first animated commercial display and the oldest still working. It represents a toothbrush and a toothpaste tube of the Swedish brand Stomatol. It was first erected on November 22, 1909 on the elevator adjacent to its current position where it was moved to 1933.
I loved wandering through the colorful streets of Gamla Stan when I was there years ago. I took a photo in that same alley—one I liked so much, it’s still hanging on our wall.
Ahhh, memories. Glad I could conjure up that one for you. But wait, you were smart enough to hang your memory up for much future reference… But, really, Stockholm is a fab city and Gamla Stan is quite special. Thank you for your comment! 😊
Another lovely wander around the city. The warm hues in no7 are wonderful. Even the construction site is rendered rather attractive here, with those primary colours.
Is it me, or does the train in the penultimate image look like a giant stripy caterpillar?🤔☺️
Stockholm looks like a reallybeautiful city. I like that 7th image as well. I like those narriw cobblestone street in cities. We have so few of the remaining here in Canada. Thank you for sharing.
Stockholm really is beautiful, the buildings have such pretty colours! The constructions is supposed to be finishen 2028 so it will probably be a mess for a few more years 😛
Aha! That’s a while, then, before it’s finished. It was a bit crazy last summer, so much was torn up. It must be a bit of a pain for the locals but hopefully when it’s all over and done it will be nice and worth the trouble. Thanks for the comment and info!!
Beautiful photos!
Many thanks!

I tell you what, I am a sucker for shots looking up narrow lanes, set between tall buildings.
So glad to hear! That part of Stockholm is all narrow lanes. (So glad I included that shot — I almost didn’t and it seems to be the fav.😇)
I agree with perfectlight I really like 7.
Thanks! I too love the colors and corridors of Gamla Stan. 😄
Love armchair travel!
Sometimes it’s the only way to travel. 😉😋

for me 7 stands out
That’s Gamla Stan, the jewel of Stockholm. It’s such a special place (esp if you stay off the touristy thoroughfares 😉).
