I don't know for certain whether it is due to climate change, but back in the 80's I could ski all winter. There was snow on the ground from January 1 to early March. Now, there I skiable snow for only a handful of days
That sounds similar to the skiing (esp cross-country skiing in the local forests where snow prep isn’t possible) here in Oslo. The season used be be all winter. Now it’s….not much at all.
Beautiful views. Reminds me of our brief visit just a few years back, visiting Ålesund and seeing the Trollstigen, then a bit later down to Stavanger. It was in the autumn and we fortunate to be blessed with some glorious colours.
Thanks! Ahhhh, so you know well of the beautiful fall colors that were sadly lacking this past year. Spending that fall where you did must’ve been pretty magnificent. Glad the post brought back those memories. 😃
I visited Norway three times as a kid as my parents had friends who lived in Lillestrøm. Your photos always remind me of some of the places I visited and just how beautiful the country is. Hopefully, one day, I’ll get back there.
First, wow! Beautiful landscapes! Climate change here? It feels like the seasons are shifting. It doesn't snow in October, then we get a heavy snow storm in May. This inevitably leads to drought conditions when it shouldn't, then a massive wildfire risk.
Thanks!!! Ooo, yeah, seasonal shift, that’s an interesting observation. And, oh those wildfires — such terrible effects that really compound the problems that already occur with hotter, drier, suddenly very wet, etc, and calamitous weather events. Appreciate your thoughts on the subject.
Looks like a beautiful fall to me, though! 😉
Beautiful!
Thank you!! 😃
I love the photos!
