These are wonderful images of amazing art, KewtieBird! “L.O.V.E.” made me chuckle, and “Självporträtt” was quite startling. I also really liked “Him” — it’s so striking, both in color and emotion. Thanks for sharing!
Wow - that is very interesting! I hadn’t seen Him before so I had to Google it and was surprised to see the face as well. I am sure it’s quite stunning to experience in person!
I really appreciate your thoughts and comment. Thank you!
(A little secret: Him was in its own room, which was bathed in red, and it took me a moment to realize the figure wasn’t “real”. I’m not sure if I thought it was a bit of almost performance art or just someone having a moment. After I figured it out, I decided to just stay behind the figure and view the installation from that position, rather than moving about the space. Later, I realized I missed out on the true reveal, the identity of the figure. That, of course, took the whole piece to a whole other level. But, I quite liked it the way I experienced it. The reveal made it uber-creepy.)
I agree. I think it was the first of that artist’s pieces I saw and I stopped for a while to appreciate it. Glad to know that piece stirred you. Thanks for your comment.
Some amazing creativity here. That Cecilia Edefalk self-portrait almost makes your head do a twitch backwards in shock. It's pretty stark. L.o.v.e made me smile (it's that permanent 12 yr old in me I'm afraid).
Faces by Sivert Lindblom made me smile for a rather different reason - it's so effective at being something it isn't, if that makes sense. Clever.
Then there's Carlota by Jaume Plensa. Also clever, but somehow slightly spooky and unnerving for some reason.
I really appreciate your thoughts and reactions to the pieces in the post and am right there with you in terms of the responses. (Very happy the L.O.V.E. Brought a smile.) Many thanks for your comment.
These are all so interesting, different, and fun! My personal favorite is L.O.V.E. by Maurizio Cattelan. I first noticed the light, then the finger, then the birds. It was an onion shot with layers ❤️
So happy you enjoyed these, especially the L.O.V.E., which I admit was my personal favorite piece. (I actually spent a bit of time on the edit cause the “backllightimg” from the skylight was a bit tricky and I wanted all the elements in the room to get their fair bit of detail so I’m glad you liked how it came out.) Thanks!!! 😃
There’s some very interesting art pieces there. We have a Jaume Plensa sculpture here in Toronto. It’s called Dreaming and is similar to the one in your photo.
Oooo, I’m interested to hear that you have your own Jaume Plensa. I’ll have to make a mental note to check it out if I ever darken Toronto’s doorstep again. Thanks so much for letting me know!
Excellent series and my 2 standouts are L.O.V.E. by Maurizio Cattelan and Him also by Maurizio Cattelan. Very interesting!
What a culture rich city with so much art available in the public space. I find these fascinating, most I have not seen, thank you for sharing!
Thank you! I appreciate your visit and comment. 😃
Ooh, this was a fun virtual tour. Thank you for sharing with us! L.O.V.E. and Faces are both so interesting!
So happy you enjoyed the tour!! And thanks for commenting! 😃

You’re welcome. And, I’m sure you would brighten Toronto’s doorstep.
